Context

Production quality is a very important factor in the supply chain of automotive components. Setting up a production end-of-line (EOL) testing system that is reliable, easy to use and configure helps in improving product quality and production efficiency, reducing costs for maintenance and recalls.

Objective

The customer needed a solution to verify the correct operation of an electro-mechanical automotive unit in the production EOL. This solution had to manage different product configurations on multiple lines, performing automatic testing and allowing specific checks by an operator.

soluion

Solution

Analyzing the product specification and the production environment, EMA defined a procedure for the EOL testing and the necessary software changes in terms of diagnostic services on the ECU.
EMA supervised the development of the automatic procedure with the EOL tools and implemented the hw/sw solution for the operator check.
