ISO26262 – Compliant Software Development for Parking Lock Actuator

The advent of electric mobility marked a decisive leap forward in the integration of multiple safety-critical ECUs in the vehicle environment, with the increased need of new devices interconnected in a renovated powertrain architecture. The car makers are now trying to keep up with the innovation pace without compromises on safety.

The customer needed the development of the functional safety – relevant embedded software for its Parking Lock Actuator control unit for stationary parking of an electric powertrain. He required software project management, collaboration in defining both system and software requirements, model-based software design and complete development.

EMA provided a standard and reliable SW development methodology with full traceability throughout the V-model SDLC, managing more than 1000 requirements from original specifications to the final implementation and validation. Following A-SPICE process model and best practices for safe design, EMA managed the main development steps with the final customer in compliance with ISO 26262.
