Indoor Air Quality Monitoring

Measuring and assessing air quality is a growing concern worldwide. Poor Internal Air Quality (IAQ) causes human disease, low thermal comfort, reduced productivity and concentration. Data gathered through IAQ sensing can also be elaborated by utilising AI based algorithms for further purposes.

The main target of the project is to monitor gaseous pollutant levels in an indoor environment, identifying the main sources and controlling the level of IAQ, either by domotic systems or human intervention (e.g. by opening a window).
The secondary target is to combine data from IAQ sensors in order to determine room occupancy and energy consumption habits.

EMA fully developed an IoT system: custom and standard wireless ambient sensors; a local server inside the building which elaborates data to maintain an optimal value of IAQ; a centralized server and a web platform utilized to manage and configure the system; and a Mobile App for remote monitoring.
